Interests & Aspirations

Interests

I enjoy working with cases that have intersections between mental health and forensic fields, as I have a degree in each respective fields, working experience and clinical experience in each respective field, thus a unique perspective on cases where these fields intersect. This could mean a variety of things: cases involving interactions with the court—criminal, family, or civil; cases with involvement with community supervision like probation or parole, cases with involvement with law enforcement whether past or present, cases with DCF involvement, etc.

I also work significantly with the LGBTQIA+ population and will always be a fierce advocate for this population.

The age of AI is very popular right now as new applications to this technology are being invent every day. I have interests in getting involved with mental health AI applications to help further the advancements of technological assistance to psychotherapy.

In the future, I hope to expand upon my interests to advocate for the forensic population, as well as the LGBTQIA+ population from a social-justice orientation. This year I will be pursuing therapy-dog training for my K9 partner, Kali, as I have significant interests in incorporating animal assisted therapy into my private practice therapy sessions as well as for use in forensic environments like assisting victims testifying on the stand in court. I am also interested in future expansion of my interests in consulting.

Aspirations

In addition to my time spent practicing psychotherapy, 2025 will bring therapy dog training for my K9 partner in crime, Kali, as well as entering into the exciting world of teaching college students! Now that Kali is over 2 years old, she has less of puppy wildness, and more capacity to maintain focus on-the-job. She is excited to learn more skills and to help people feel better. I have always had an interest in helping to expand how young adults learn to think and experience their new exposures to the world. I have experience and interest focusing on teaching classes in my following areas of expertise: forensic psychology, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, and related fields.
