Specialties

Psychotherapy Specialties

2025 will mark 3 years as a licensed psychotherapist. Within that time, I have grown multiple specialties. Considering my extensive previous experience working within several different environments within the criminal justice system as well as with a numerous variety of forensic clients with varying circumstances, I have utilized that experience with current psychotherapy clients with forensic involvement in their life.

I work with predominately Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression in adults or children, and I have also spent a significant amount of time working with children through young adults diagnosed with moderate to high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder. I work with a variety of other types of clients, diagnoses, and circumstances on a daily basis.

Law Enforcement Specialties

I have worked with the forensic population or within the criminal justice field for 10 years and have a variety of specialties from my extended time and vast variety of experiences during that time.

During those 10 years, I worked in most stages of the criminal justice system. I have vast experience in a variety of settings having worked with a variety of offenders from youthful offenders, to gang-affiliated offenders, from those charged with petty theft, to sex offenses & murder, and everything in-between. I specialized in working with criminal offenders in all stages: police contact and arrest, actively sentenced in court, serving probation and parole, incarcerated inmates, and conditional release, work release, or halfway house restricted release status.

I specialize in case management roles involving needs assessments, risk assessments, other behavioral, substance abuse, or forensic related assessments, treatment plans, housing and job placements assistance upon reentry, and other community resource needs.

I also specialized in handling emergency situations and crisis situations. I have experience triaging 911 emergency calls, delegating emergency information via coding to law enforcement, and working with the public as a Public Safety Dispatcher for a local police department.

Combining the above specialties with forensic case management and handling emergency and crisis situations: I also have experience providing mental health therapy to incarcerated inmates at the CT Department of Corrections. I have experience responding to crisis calls within a jail/prison setting to provide therapeutic intervention, maintaining a caseload of 40+ inmates, & providing follow-up coverage for the entire inmate population.
